Music, Art and Media Opportunities for Young People Living in the Looked After System in RCT
SONIG is currently working with young people living within the Looked After System in Rhondda Cynon Taff, with the aim of creating a positive welcome DVD for all young people entering care for the first time. Working with media professionals, our DVD media team will create the DVD from initial scriptwriting processes to editing the final cut! SONIG is also talking to organisations who work with young people in the looked after system to create a strategic action plan, looking at ways to ensure the arts is recognised as an important aspect of life for young people interested in the arts and living in care.

Rhondda Cynon Taff Singer/ Songwriters Competition!
This Autumn, SONIG will be running its very first singer/songwriters competition for all young songwriters living in RCT, aged between 14 - 25 and able to support their own original material on their own instrument! The winner will recieve professional recording time and help with demo release as well as money towards new equipment amongst other things!

SONIG Rock and Pop workshops for girls!
Rock and pop sessions for girls aged 8 plus will soon be starting at The Muni Arts Centre,Pontypridd on Saturday mornings. The sessions will cover basic lead and bass guitar skills and will particularly compliment those girls who are are beginning private lessons but all are welcome!
