http://www.rct-arts.org/files/newsimages/VFactor_logo_Stars.jpgOver the past few months the Arts Development team have been working with Services for Young People, supported by Bigfoot Theatre, to develop and deliver the V Factor 2010 - a celebration of creative young talent in Rhondda Cynon Taff.

Heats were held at the Coliseum Theatre in early May, with over 100 acts performed by over 600 young people!  This years auditions have seen hundreds of talented young people come forward to show off their fantastic talents in dancing, singing, theatrical performance, music and drama.  The judges, including Amy Wadge (Singer/Songwriter), Siwan Morris (actress), Richard Mylan (actor) and Kate Lewis (dancer/choreographer), faced a tough task and now empathise with the likes of Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole in having to choose between them.

A list of finalists can be seen at www.thevfactor.co.uk.

All the finalists are now attending master classes in music, dance, theatre and drama, to prepare them for the final on May 25th at the Park and Dare Theatre, Treorchy.

The V Factor final is promising to be the event of the year with a high number of young people successfully ‘wowing’ the judges at the audition stages.

In true X Factor style, Lloyd Daniels will be attending and performing at this years V Factor along side street dance legends Jukebox Juniors.

Lloyd, from Merthyr Tydfil now aged 17 years, is a true testimony to the fantastic talent we have here in the Valleys after he shot to fame last year by reaching the final stages of the hit X Factor show.

Jukebox Juniors who are a UK based dynamic, ambitious and hugely successful dance company in the hip hop and funk dance scene will also be performing along side Lloyd and the talented young people from Rhondda Cynon Taf. They are one of the hottest properties and the newest and most diverse young acts in the UK, and have already achieved massive success by getting to the Finals of Sky One's, ''Got To Dance'', supporting international singing artist NE-YO, performing on BBC Children In Need 2009, appearing in the Gap Commercial Campaign UK and so much more.

The Jukebox Juniors are proof of what can be achieved by talented young people and will be a real inspiration to the young people performing in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

The lucky winners of the V Factor crown will be performing in front of thousands of people as part of the “Musical Youth Extravaganza – In Tune With Youth’ Showcase at the Wales Millennium Centre and become RCT’s ambassadors for youth arts during 2010.

Tickets for the final showcase on 25th May are on sale now from the Rhondda Cynon Taf Box Office - 08000 147 111.
